UPMC Passavant colorectal cancer and minimally-invasive surgical specialist to see patients at Womancare Center

Hermitage, PA — Steven Ahrendt, MD, FACS, surgical oncologist with the UPMC Cancer Center at UPMC Passavant, will begin seeing patients at the Womancare Center of UPMC Horizon beginning Thursday, December 6.

Dr. Ahrendt’s specialties include the surgical treatment of colorectal, pancreatic, and biliary tract cancers, specifically through the use of minimally-invasive surgical techniques. He earned his medical degree from the University of Chicago and completed a residency and fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, Md.

Dr. Ahrendt’s practice is part of the UPMC Passavant multi-specialty surgery suite scheduled to open this month at the Womancare Center. Other specialties in the suite will include breast, liver, and thyroid surgery. The new multi-specialty surgery suite offers local residents access to the most specialized cancer care experts from the UPMC Cancer Centers at UPMC Horizon’s Womancare Center in Hermitage.
