Internal medicine, family practice doctors join Greenville Medical Center-UPMC

Greenville, PA — Two doctors — Philip Lee, DO, internal medicine, and Ameer Shams, MD, family practice — recently joined UPMC Horizon’s medical staff and the staff of Greenville Medical Center – UPMC.

A graduate of Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Lee completed an osteopathic internship at Meadville Medical Center and an internal medicine residency at UPMC Presbyterian and Shadyside hospitals, where he also served as chief resident. He also previously served as a physician supervisor for the UPMC Institute for Quality Improvement, an evaluator for the UPMC Graduate Medical Education Internal Review Committee, and a part-time hospitalist for the Department of Medicine at UPMC Presbyterian and Shadyside.

Dr. Shams completed his family practice residency program at West Penn Allegheny Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville, Pa. He has also volunteered as a physician at Alexandria University in Egypt and Southside Medical Center, Augusta, Ga.
