Physicians
join UPMC Horizon medical staff
Farrell
and Greenville, PA — Three physicians recently joined
UPMC Horizon’s active medical staff: Kevin Leonard, MD, radiology;
Barbara Merovich, MD, internal medicine; and Laura Pesci, DO, pediatrics.
Dr. Leonard
earned his undergraduate degree from Westminster College, New Wilmington,
Pa., and earned his medical degree from the Pennsylvania State University
College of Medicine. He completed a diagnostic radiology residency
at Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Hershey.
A member of
the Radiological Society of North America and the American College
of Radiology, Dr. Leonard returns to UPMC Horizon after two years
in Harrisburg. He provides radiology services at both campuses and
at the Womancare Center.
Dr. Merovich
earned her medical degree from Maimonides University School of Medicine,
Buenos Aires, Argentina. She completed internal medicine residencies
at Pirovano Hospital, Buenos Aires, and UPMC Presbyterian and Shadyside
hospitals. She also served as an instructor in the internal medicine
residency program and an attending physician in the emergency department
at Pirovano Hospital.
Dr. Merovich
is affiliated with the Primary Health Network. Her office is located

A graduate of
the University of Pittsburgh and Duquesne University’s post
baccalaureate pre-medical program, Dr. Pesci earned her medical
degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, Erie, Pa.
She completed an internship at Mercy Health System, Pittsburgh,
and a pediatric residency at Tod Children’s Hospital, Youngstown,
where she served as chief pediatric resident.
Dr. Pesci is
a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American
Osteopathic Association. She has joined the practice of Paul Chlpka,
MD, at Helping Hands Pediatrics, 585 E. State St., Sharon. Her office
