UPMC
Horizon welcomes new board members
Farrell
and Greenville, PA — The UPMC Horizon board of directors
recently welcomed four new members: Mary D’Auria, DO; Tulio
Estrada, MD; Steven Gargasz; and Larry Pifer.
A lifelong resident
of the Shenango Valley, Dr. D’Auria graduated from what is
now known as Kennedy Catholic High School, Hermitage. She earned
a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Westminster College
and a medical degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Her post-graduate training included an internship at what is today
the UPMC Horizon Shenango Valley campus. Shortly thereafter, she
entered into private practice and is currently the managing partner
in practice with her husband, Charles E. D’Auria, DO.
Dr. D’Auria
enjoys spending time with her family including three children: Steven,
21, a senior at Notre Dame University who plans to attend medical
school; Jennifer, 19, a freshman at Notre Dame; and Rachel, 11,
a student in the Sharpsville School District.
Dr. Estrada
practices with Consultants in Cardiology, Inc., Greenville, and
has been a member of UPMC Horizon’s medical staff since 1995.
He received his medical degree in Colombia and completed internal
medicine residencies in both Colombia and at Tulane Medical School,
New Orleans, La. Dr. Estrada also received advanced training in
heart failure, cardiac transplant, clinical cardiology, and nuclear
cardiology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.
A fellow of
the American College of Cardiology and a member of the American
Society of Nuclear Cardiology, Dr. Estrada is certified by the American
Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine, cardiovascular
disease, and nuclear cardiology.
Dr. Estrada and his wife, Clara, are residents of Greenville.
Mr. Gargasz,
president and publisher of The Record-Argus, has worked for 17 years
at the Greenville-based local newspaper. He is a member of the Greenville
Lions Club. His family including wife, Lori, and their son, Tommy,
1 are residents of South Pymatuning Township.
Mr. Pifer is
a financial consultant with Prudential Financial Services. A graduate
of Sharon High School, he received a degree in financial management
from American College, Bryn Mawr, Pa.
Mr. Pifer actively
volunteers within his church, Victory Christian Center in Lowellville,
Ohio, where he serves as a deacon and offers financial counseling.
He also enjoys playing golf. His family including wife, Sally and
three stepsons are residents of Hermitage.
The Board of
Directors and the Executive Team of UPMC Horizon extend a warm welcome
to its newest board members.
