The Lactation
Center, located at the Womancare Center of UPMC Horizon, provides
consultation services for breastfeeding mothers and offers a variety
of breastfeeding products and supplies, which are available for
purchase.
Services
A certified
lactation consultant is available by appointment for a private,
one-hour outpatient consultation to answer questions and review
proper breastfeeding techniques.
The lactation
consultant also visits new mothers during their hospital stays to
assist with breastfeeding and answer questions.

pumps (manual and electric)
- Nursing bras
(available in sizes up to 46 G)

antibacterial wipes
- Microwave
sterilization equipment
- Boppy nursing

The Lactation Center accepts cash, MasterCard, Visa,
American Express, and personal checks.
Gift
registry
The Lactation Center offers a gift registry for new and expectant
mothers to register for breastfeeding supplies. To start a gift
registry, call 724-347-4780, or stop in at the Womancare Center.
Support
groups
The Breastfeeding Support Group, designed to help breastfeeding
mothers, is held the second Tuesday of the month at the Womancare
Center and the third Wednesday of the month at the UPMC Horizon
Wellness Center. The group encourages breastfeeding moms to share
their experiences and offer suggestions, support, and encouragement
to their fellow mothers. A
certified lactation consultant is available during the support group.
