Greenville,
PA — Matt El-Kadi, MD, PhD, FACS, a neurosurgeon
and spine surgery specialist with Tri-State Neurosurgical Associates
— UPMC, is now seeing patients at Greenville Medical Center
— UPMC.
A clinical professor
in the department of neurological surgery at the University of Pittsburgh
School of Medicine, Dr. El-Kadi specializes in the surgical treatment
of spine and central nervous system conditions, including herniated
discs, spinal stenosis, spinal fractures, spinal slippage, tumors,
and vascular abnormalities, along with intra-cranial surgery.
Dr. El-Kadi
earned his medical degree from Second Moscow State Pirogov Medical
School and completed a neurosurgery residency at Burdenko Neurosurgical
Institute, Moscow. He later completed a research fellowship in brain
tumors, brain protection, and radiotherapy and a general surgery
internship at LAC+USC Medical Center, Los Angeles; a neurosurgery
fellowship at the University of Connecticut; a neurosurgery residency
at West Virginia University; and a neurosurgery fellowship with
Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, with emphasis on complex
spine cases.
He is certified
by the American Board of Neurological Surgeons and a member of the
American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the American Medical
Association, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, the Pennsylvania
Medical Society, the Allegheny County Medical Society, the Pennsylvania
Neurological Society, and the North American Spine Society. He is
also the chief of neurosurgery at UPMC Passavant.
