New
Wilmington family medicine practice joins UPMC Horizon
New
Wilmington, PA — New Wilmington residents now have
more options when it comes to their families’ health care.
The four physicians who comprise Family Medical Care of Lawrence
County recently joined UPMC Horizon’s medical staff.
Family Medical
Care of Lawrence County specializes in the care of patients of all
ages, from newborns to the elderly. The practice’s full spectrum
of medical services includes children’s well visits, gynecologic
exams, removal of skin lesions, and the care of hospital and nursing
home patients.
The physicians
include:
• James
Gardner III, MD — Dr. Gardner earned his medical degree from
Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia. He completed a family practice
residency with the In His Image Family Residency program, Tulsa,
Okla.
• John
Mansell, MD — Dr. Mansell earned his medical degree from the
University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, Philadelphia. He
completed an internship with the U.S. Naval Hospital, Portsmouth,
Va.
• Mary
Tanyel, MD — Dr. Tanyel earned her medical degree from Temple
University, Philadelphia. She completed an internship and residency
with Montgomery Hospital, Norristown, Pa.
• Sharon
Dawso, MD — Dr. Dawso earned her medical degree from Memorial
University of Newfoundland. She completed an internship and residency
at The Medical Center, Beaver, Pa., and a fellowship in academic
medicine at Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine,
Rootstown, Ohio.
All four physicians
are certified by the American Board of Family Practice
These physicians
join Kary Schroyer, DO, and Anthony Uberti, MD, of New Wilmington
Family Medicine Associates, P.C., as members of UPMC Horizon’s
New Wilmington family. In addition, Philip Lee, DO, internal medicine,
will serve as hospitalist at the Shenango Valley campus for patients
from both New Wilmington practices. Hospitalists are physicians
who exclusively treat hospital inpatients.
Dr. Schroyer
and Dr. Uberti see patients at 565 W. Neshannock Ave., New Wilmington,
adjacent to the UPMC Horizon Diagnostic center, a convenient location
for New Wilmington area residents to receive general radiology and
laboratory services.
